This much hyped place isnt really worth all the praise. To start with, the location is kinda frustrating. The place has an awesome ambiance (royal, should i say?) elegant and indianish totally! So you sit and dine in a kinda 'divine' place and you get served on silver plates and 'actual' silverware. (mind you, they charge u as much as the plate costs them). The drinks are traditional with safforn, cardomom and everything indian! I cannot comment on 'Starters' cos the mangalore bonda that was ordered dint reach till the dessert came and the reason given to us was that 'the chef said it ll take 40 mins so I cancelled it' well who made the order? and hey by the way y r they called starters?
Coming to the best part, the food is what they claim it to be 'typically' grandma made, tastes so nostalgic. The roti and paneer 'watever' gravy were very restaurant style but the home-style potato and beans with dal were incredible. The bissibella bath melted on the tongue! The papad was served almost after we finished the meal wouldve been better with this. The pulav, morkozhambu were average. The vethakozhambu is not really good enough. Anyways dont miss the podi and ghee since you will already be filled. It is too good! Curd rice is nothing great. The pal payasam is gr8 too but after eating so much u def cant eat more.
Now that ur stomach is full get ready for a heart attack. Whatever said and done this place is tooooo expensive and is not really worth it. It is nothing more than a 'special meals' you could get at saravana bhavan or sangeetha probably. The basic thali (Preethi Bhojan) costs 350 bucks, the rest are above 600!
