Event Details
Come alive to the rhythms, movements and colours of different folk dances of South India. This special festival coincides with the New Year Celebration and has been tailor-made to suit the festive mood and there will be dancing all day in village style. This festival offers the unique opportunity to witness the rich and varied folk art forms of South India at one go.
20th -25th Jan 2010 Folk performances from Karnataka and Andhra
Kamsale from Karnataka and Kommu Koya from Andhra
27th-31st Jan 2010 Folk performances from Tamil Nadu and Kerala
Therukoothu from Tamilnadu and Panchavathyam from Kerala
To complement the dancers an array of craft persons with their intricate and colourful handicrafts can also be seen demonstrating and selling their wares. Delicious meals and other savories for the visitors.
