Event DetailsAn exhibition on art inspired by real classified ads from New Delhi newspapers, surreal birds, beasts and human beings of Natesh's pen and ink line drawings, live "grafitti" performance by Malavika P.C, photographs crumbling signs and typefaces.
1. Times New Roman and countrymen
An exhibition of graphic collages inspired by real classified ads from New Delhi newspapers as observed by Vishwajyoti Ghosh.
A single India is presented here from two vantage points in time. The small bites of "classified" text sell the excellent-quality-superb-condition-dynamic-India we live in, while the illustrations are "declassified" Hindi film visuals from the India we grew up in.
2. TyPoCiTy
A pictorial survey of typography and design found on signboards, taxis, buildings, tiffin dabbas in public spaces of Mumbai by Vishal Rawley
This photographic documentation includes: Stately fonts now falling off the facades of old buildings, exquisite signboards of legendary shops in inner city areas, stylishly crafted typefaces pasted on taxi cabs, queer lettering on a hairdresser's and tailor's signboard.
3. When this key sketch gets real tongue is fork hen is cock drawings by M Natesh.
A collection of ink drawings of surreal combinations of hands, women, fish, tigers, eagles, and rhinoceroses showcases the amazing things Natesh can do with a simple black line.
4. Grafitti - Live
Chennai-based graphic artist Malavika P.C. will proceed to "grafitti" a wall in her quintessential style that is quirky, clever, brilliant and original.
