Event Details
The pro-shows consist of a variety of shows that combine finesse and ingenuity. This plethora comprises of the Classical Night, Choreo Night, Popular Night, Decibels and the Light Music Finals, culminating in the eagerly-anticipated Rock Show. Previous editions of Saarang have seen crowds towering up to 10,000 sway to the captivating music of legends like Lucky Ali, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Shaan and Sukhwinder Singh. We aren’t averse to doing jigs to the occasional new-generation musician, such as Karthik, who captures the spirit of youthful exuberance. Indian bands like Prestorika and Junkyard Groove performing on the same stage as globally-reputed bands such as Matmatah, Global Rhythms and Mynta give a whole new meaning to global music. Where else, but for Saarang, can one find a classic rock gig sharing the limelight with a classical performance in equal measure? Not to forget the immense pool of talent that is perenially on display during the Decibels and Light Music Finals, or the jam-packed Choreo Night, which amply highlights the underlying theme and philosophy of Saarang as a culfest.
