Anise....Average, not at all value for money 2011-04-05
I went to Anise last week and even though my expectations were not that high but I did expect some minimum standards considering that I'm walking into TAJ.
Here's how the story unfolds :
1) On reaching Anise, there was no one to receive us. On waiting for a few seconds I just got hold of a waiter and asked him 'where do I sit' ? He then guided me to a table.
2) No waiter came for around 5 min. We were sitting looking like guests invited to a party without a host.

Anise - Its EXPIRED and SOUR! 2011-04-05
Being my wife's 1st BDay after we had a baby, I decided the perfect place to celebrate would be the new done Anise at Taj. As always, made my reservation earlier. I didn’t want to get another cake as we already had a cake blast. So I wanted a small cake which the hostess said they will arrange as part of Taj's compliments for her BDay (thats regular anyway these day even in small restaurants).

Three reasons why I take back my score 2011-04-04
I've already written a review for Anise and given it a good score. But, owingt to my experience recently, I'm reposting a review for the same.
Taj Coromandel is renovated and all fancy shmancy. But this time around, my husband and I were thoroughly disappointed with the service.
Reason 1:
Their jalapeno hoppers 'were' excellent about a year and a half ago. This time when we ordered the same, they stuck to our mouth. I mean, in a very raw way. And when I checked, I realized that it was only the outside that had been cooked, while the inside was raw with batter. And that... read more -

Decent, but not worth the price 2010-02-16
My wife & I had a Valentine's Day dinner at Anise, and I must say, that while the food was not bad, I found it to be a disappointing dining experience.
The ambience is nice, the staff is friendly. The unlimited champagne that accompanies the buffet is most certainly a scoring point.
However, the buffet can definitely use a lot more variety. The mediterranean/Italian dishes that are often spoken about were nowhere to be seen in the buffet. Lot of the usual Indian cuisine was in abundance. The pizzas were very, very average.
