    The Chennai version of Casa Piccola started with a bang.. the ambience was great, and the food was simply superb.. but then.. it went the way of all flesh!
    The last time I visited, with family and friends, we ordered: Seafood Salad, which promised a bunch of exotic seafoods: we got: 2 bits of vanjaram, a couple of prawns and some rubbery calamari in a tasteless sauce. Pasta salad: the less said the better. Chicken Verner Schnitzel (it took time for the waiter to grasp that this was actually on the menu).. just about OK. And some other totally forgettable dish.   • Casa Piccola? Not a chance...

    While the food and drink is only average, what it's missing in the menu it makes up for in ambiance. The terrace seating is excellent on a cool evening or night especially when its a clear and starry night. The seating is also quite comfortable. But like its counterparts, its overflowing with school and college kids, and the place is usually packed, while for the most part the inside seating is usually empty...unless patrons have no other option! The food is average, in every dish something seems to be lacking...I also wouldn't call it Italian either...its more of a quasi-Italian... Its not hearty... read more

  • Decent reminder of Bangalore's Casa Picola

    We discovered this place accidentally and was pleasantly surprised to find this in Chennai.
    Menu is smaller than what I have seen in Bangalore. Being a veggie, anyways my options were limited. We sat on terrace for dinner as weather was pleasant. Service was okay, we tried Pasta and taste was good. Didn't try Sheesha as I felt it was a distraction.
    They need to expand the menu to include more dishes. But in my opinion they should have gone all out and displayed their full variety in the single outlet they have in Chennai. Not sure why they have held themselves back. I think there are    ... read more

  • Bad Choice!!

    I don’t really know why people like this place so much. The place is badly maintained. It is exceptionally dirty and the floor was lastly waxed only in the early 1900’s. The paintings are beautiful but the furniture and the cutlery does not go with it though.

    The place is always crowed but people don’t assume that the food is good because of that. It is only because of sheesha. About the food, the portions are large but there is nothing so pleasing that I would make me go there for the second time.
