Amazing place 2011-02-17
This is actually two restaurants together - Crimson Chakra (south indian / fusion south indian) and Cornucopia (continental / contemporary).
The first thing that strikes you is the location - about a mile down a quiet (and full of "old money" houses) lane, diagonally opposite the Gandhinagar Club. the restaurant is located on the ground floor of an old, white painted villa.
About a 100 covers - but lots of space so you dont feel crowded at all. Brassware and prints on the walls, soft lighting. Six of us there - including a child who had fun with other kids on a large old swing... read more -

Authentic Food 2010-11-10
Went here last night, with a couple of people from work. Loved the ambiance, and the food was lip smacking tasty !
My friends tried the set menu offered by the Crimson Chakra resto,the taste was very very authentic and quantity was huge for 475 rupees
As for Cornucopia, their main course can be ordered as half portion...they charge you 60% of the price for the dish.
If you love authentic continental food ..this is the place for you. -

i had been to this place after reading the reviews and i must admit that the taste is superb! i liked the starters that i ordered and of the pastas the white based one was good but did not like the tomato based one much. If the food was good, the dessert was great! yes, the missisipi mud pie is a must try at this place. service is average and i have not given 5 stars because they are a long way to go in that aspect. i guess, i shall visit this place often but one thing i am not too comfy is the fact that they are not a 100% veg restaurant. -

I no longer stay in Chennai, but during my five odd years there I must have been t this place at least 20 times.
It is quite hard to find, and mostly known through word of mouth. Not that it is out of the way. It is quite near to Park Sheraton, but the signage leaves a bit to be desired.
But that is besides the point. If you wish to have a true taste of European food - this is the place you have to head to in Chennai. I have tasted food in the likes of Little Italy, Eden and other places which seem to be rated higher here on burrp. But they are not even a patch on Cornucopi... read more -
