Good food ... Peaceful Ambience 2011-01-15
A south indian curry based restaurant, with good traditional dishes from all over south india. A very good ambience in the restaurant and not too cluttered seating.
It's a bit crowded to park cars right next to it due to other shops and another restaurant nearby. -

Great food, Bad Pricing 2010-02-08
A malabar cuisine speciality restaurant. I am not a good judge of malabar food but I heard its good and I entered the restaurant with high hopes.
Wonderful hospitality, great ambience, good taste but not worth the price. The quantity did not justify the price either.
I would suggest that you just go for an experience. -

A recent addition to the variety of restaurants owned by the Oriental Cuisines group, Kokum brings to the table an all out South Indian variety.
Located in the Prime Anna nagar, just off Shanti Colony, next to French loaf and shares the road with neighbors such as Cascade.
First impressions of Kokum is extremely inviting with an usher by the door and very classy door and doorway. The decor is subtle and appropriate in style. There is a distant sound like a waterfall as one enters.

Visited Kokum yesterday for a family dinner. The ambiance is picture perfect and so is the staff. The place boasts of coastal cuisine from down south and while I don't claim to be a master taster of the food from those areas - I certainly liked what I had. We had Crab masala, Triv Chicken Fry and some rice dumplings as the starters - taste wise perfect but the portions were small (price to value justification questionable).
For the main course, we had Ulli Thaiyyal, Chicken Xaccuti and Mutton Vindaloo (a little on the tangy side). The food portions were reasonably good.
