Reliable place for a meal 2011-05-19
Not expensive, interiors not as good as Usman Road one. but no compromise on taste. The perfect Idlis, pongals, with variety of chutneys (coconut, mint tomato) and sambhar. Service not great, but that's not the USP.
Great place to go, any day. -

tables are too small.. i went with 3 other friends and cud not find enough place on the table to freely place the plates...
crowded almost all the time.. u have to wait for abt half an hour during peak hrs... -

Worth going again 2008-06-01
Unusually for a sunday this place was very quiet.
Maybe its the IPL or the heat that kept ppl away. But in any case, the place was calm for a change and the food was served in quick time.
Tasty food as always.
Wish all sundays would be like this ;) -

For Super Soft Idlis 2008-02-19
Never heard of this before and our entire gang bumped into Murugan Idli Shop during our loafing session in Chennai.
It was crowded and we had to wait for around 10mins and what we got to eat is definitely worth a wait.
Somebody told me, the first idli shop belonging to this chain, was started during the pre-independence period. People from Chennai could throw more light on this if they have the relevant data.. Anybody listening???
