not a good tamilnadu cuisine 2012-03-23
The "idly kadai" name is a very native one and I was attracted by the name when they opened the t.nagar branch. We visited there few times on Saturday evenings. Items are ok, but It was much crowded and the tables were not well organized. This was happened some 5 to 6 yrs back and after that I never had a chance to visit again until recently.
I visited to the Besant Nagar Branch. The ambiance is not good and I believe the management thinks that just fixing 3 split Ac's in a hall gives the "AC restaurant". tag. They should pay some great attention to improve the ambiance . And the enviro... read more -

Only for idly's and dosa's...!!!!!! 2011-07-21
As the name sounds murugan idly shop is worth only for hot idly's nothin else. I had been there for breakfast as the idly and sambar tasted like heaven guessed wrong that even they would serve a tasty lunch. But it turned out to be a disaster. I ordered spl meals which had nothin in spl. The curry they served was the potato masala which they had served for the puri in the morning. The other thing i hated was everytime i had to wait for the waiter or keep calling 'em for rasam, sambar etc etc. Overall 't was a very bad experience and decided to stay away from the hotel. -

Murugan Idly......heavenly idlies with steaming hot sambar. Polished off with filter kaapi.....burrp is the word
On the flip side, this place has a waiting list (what else do you expect from a place that serves such mouth water food) and there is no possibility of booking a table early. Waiting outside the restaurant is somewhat of a pain as the smell from the fish stalls across the street sometimes is nauseating. But the service staff try to ensure that your wait is as short as possible. Overall, a great place to go to. -
