Amazing service, Awesome starters 2010-10-07
It is one of the old hotel in chennai. Not a attractive outside look.
But after getting in, environment is superb. Opal Inn restaurant has dark environment with golden lights.
Amazing service and excellent starters. Sizzlers are special. -

Suicide is a better option!! 2009-05-07
To begin with the restaurant is badly designed. Stained glass is not in fashion anymore and they are desperate to get an interior designer. There is not much change. They use the same cutlery that was used ten years back. The only change here is the food. What was delicious few years ago is suicidal now.
If you are a pure vegetarian please do not try the spring roll. The batter has egg white and the chefs think that the customers are stupid but he is so mistaken. May be due to the primitive thinking of the chefs they still haven’t even thought of wasabi wraps used for popiya or spring... read more -

Hell no to rude service! 2008-12-09
Forgive my words about good service in Opal Inn last time. I am just back from lunch at this restaurant, a late lunch around 3 o' clock, is it a big mistake on my part? The waiter was so angry with us that we entered late, he should ve just told us that they are closed. He kept hurrying us to order soon and din let us have a good look at the menu. He said no more orders will be taken as the kitchen is closing after we sat down so we had to order everything we need at a go (and hence ended up ordering a lot more than we can eat).

Highly underrated 2008-07-22
The hotel ranjith has been there right in the centre of the city for years now but somehow it has never been the centre of attraction for foodies. It maybe cos of the unattractive looks from the outside and the uninviting sidey look of the Opal Inn restaurant although its well accessible from outside the hotel through a small lane that goes from Nungambakkam high road.
As I entered, the restaurant did look a little dark and anyone but a patron wud hesitate a moment before they step in. The ambiance is fine-dining very dim-lit, more for the silent diners. The menu is vast with stuff... read more -
