  • Great restaurant 2 days ago

Sigree is a place which had been really popular during my heydays for giving birthday treats. Good quality food with great taste is a very well done job. Buffet does justice to the price and satisfies the taste buds with its huge variety. The A la carte might burn a hole in the pocket of a few visitors, but for the food quality , one must pay a visit to this place.

A must visit place if you really wanna try quality food, and specially if you are in Chennai where quality food is scarce. Its amazing to treat your taste buds with delicious food in the land of idly dosa and sambaar

  • Lovely resto! Mar 31, 2013

Buffet is worth the money because for the 650 odd or so, it has a wide variety of starters and being a n-w frontier resto they have delicious kebabs. Their paneer tikka is a must-try. Being a veggie i could not try everything on the menu but i did get to taste one of the best pulavs! Do drop by this resto if you want authentic kebabs!

    SIGREE
At nungambakkam in the Hotel Aruna Complex is a gem of a hotel that serves great north indian food.
Coming to the starters : the Veg Kebab and Paneer Tikkas were simply awesome, paneer especially was juicy and succulent. Other options incude the Aloo and the Baby Corn starters. There are some good choices in the buffet which comes at around Rs.650 or so.
desserts here include some gulab jamuns and tasty ice cream scoops and more.
Drinks menu is limited here and thats maybe something that they can focus more on.
Service is good and parking is plenty.
    Strongly recom

  • Brilliant food for the price, good service! Mar 03, 2013

Been here multiple times on business luncheons

    1. Lunch Buffet spread is by far the best in food quality and taste at the price
    2. Delicious Paneer and chicken starters - one can go on and on hogging them
    3. Drinks menu is quite limited
    4. Service is good - considering we normally go in groups of 30 and above

    Food quality and taste: 4.5/5
    Service: 3.5/5
    Price: 4/5
    Ambiance: 3.5/5
    Overall: 4/5

  • Starters alone ~ Jan 20, 2013

A very tasty spread of starters. Wonderful service ! Really liked the way the waiters cared for the request and kept updating if delayed.
There were about 5+ starters and I would rate all of them 5 star !. Paneer was extremely cooked to perfection !

Moving onto main course was disappointing. The rice/pulav was kashmiri or I would even call it a kesari ! ufff,, the desert section did have a lot of varieties, but alas.. none were really excellent. Liked the ice cream to a level though.

  • Awesome Food, Pathetic Service Jan 01, 2013

I have been to Sigree twice with my family, around 18 of us. The food there is really good. I love their starters, especially the prawns and fish. The chicken was just ordinary nothing good about that. Paneer was okay. Their service was the worst. We had to remind the staff about 10 times to get us the starter we want. When we request for prawns he would bring panner, so we actually had to wait for about 40 mins to taste the prawns again. Apart from their poor service, the food is really good. The deserts and the main course were also enjoyable.

  • Sunday brunch Dec 23, 2012

This review is for Sunday brunch/ weekend lunch. I had a appetite for kebabs and thought of trying sigree Buffet.
I went for the non veg so that I can try the non veg kebabs and ended up eating more of vegetarian. The soup - chicken Shorba was good.

    The starters were -

Veg-paneer tikka- soft succulent and good but cold, achari potato- was good veg kebab- ok

Non veg- murgh or chicken kebab was ok again cold, tandoori chicken was ok, fish was tasting different, prawn was done in a batter with a ting of coriander on the higher side.

    Roasted pappad was served

  • Nice place for occasions Dec 15, 2012

One of the few fine dinning places serving consistent quality North Indian food. Have been to this place for lunch. The ambience is very good. The spread is elaborate. They have both buffet and ala carte. I had ala carte. The kebabs were succulent melting in the mouth. The paneer dishes are extremely good. The food is bit spicy we have to be specific in requesting less spicy. The green chutney they give with the kebab is fresh and minty. Service is friendly quick and prompt. Cost is on the higher side. Worth trying.
