When a bengali is devoid of good ghar er khabar, he/she has to visit this place to satisfy the hunger. People might say that the food there is not as authentic as they would have tasted at home back in Kolkata, but it is as close as it can get. All in all, it is a win for the place and spread is just MOUTH watering. -

Paturis are the best 2011-05-24
Annapurna's food would be loved by people who are frustrated enough not to find any other cheap dining options in Chennai. It is definitely not as good as some people claim it to be. The place is unhygienic and most of the items are so so. Chicken and Mutton are not that good. The best thing about this restaurant is its paturi and its Sunday special lunch menu. Out of the world experience. -

Looking for Bengali food in Chennai, you'll never be spoilt for choices. Annapurna offers a decent spread and I was happy that though not the most excuisite, the taste was Bengali.
The place isn't about ambiance, service or comfort at all. Its in small clumsy room without windows, tables packed together, people waiting for their turn standing next to the chairs they want to claim. But if you have to have the food, you have to do it.
The basic veg meal is kind of incomplete. rice, dal, 2 side dish. i was at least expecting some crisp alu bhaja, chatni, papad. They could keep a more elaborate... read more -

Being a non-bengali, this is the best kind of bengali food I have managed to get my hands on in Chennai.
Located in a strange , dingy place, it is avoidable if you are thinking of taking your better half out for a lunch or so. But a group of food-lovers will enjoy the craziness of the people. You have to stand on people's head and wait till they leave so that you can grab the seat. At times you probably will end up sitting ono different tables if you are too large a group, making most out of of the available seats.
