All about ambience

As I entered, the place just blew me! Rainforest has one of the best auras you'll ever get to see. Everything just builds up. Innovative, done!

Ambience: Nothing to beat this place!

The service was up to the mark. I really expected a very good service from the folks and i felt that I was let down somewhere. But, while I was there, I never really felt the dearth.

Service: decent

The most important aspect-food-was not upto the mark! None of the dishes that I tasted was tasty enough for me to eye them wolfishly. I, infact, had to settle with I want no more, I am done etc. Food is a complete let down.

Food: Nothing great!

Overall: when you really are looking forward to having a great hog, this is not at all the place. Take your partner for a romantic little dinner date here and you can have the best time! Otherwise, the foodie you will die of shame and your eyes will have a feast instead.

Unique dining experience..

One of the few restaurants in Chennai that offer a unique ambience, a place with a rainforest theme! Inspired by the theme based chain restaurants in the US, Rainforest presents some creative sights. A singing deer, a small bridge with thatched hut like roofs, open sesame entrance and waiters dressed to match the theme, all of this makes dinner worthwhile. Surely entertaining for the kids and a must see place for chennaites!

Jungle Jamburee

This restaurant takes you right through to the stone age... yeah quite virtually. The so called stone entrance does not make a statement, although it can pass of for being a prop went wrong.
The internals have been done up in plastic plants a small wooden bridge. Some of the mystic sounds being played are that of thunder, lightning and wild animal sounds. They seem good for first timers, but then seem to get weird as time progresses.
The less said about the food the better. nothing to boast about.
Its just a plain northindian and continental restaurant with a good theme. Could surely have been better.

Experience dining in a jungle

One can't miss the effort that has gone in to making Rainforest a theme restaurant. The entrance is a huge rock like structure, which when pushed open leads you to a flight of stairs into a dark dining area that is made like a forest. The props used range from authentic-looking plants to bizarre soft toys for animals. The background music with thunder, rain and animal sounds add to the experience. The waiters too are dressed in shirts that have a leopard print.

However, the jungle experience ends there. Rainforest has a multicuisine menu - Indian, Continental, Mexican, Chinese. I have tried some of the continental and some of the Indian food and it is passable. Nothing special.

But its refreshing to see a theme restaurant. Hope to see more theme restaurants mushrooming in Chennai.
