I partially agree with the review below, the place is definitely overrated, mayb cos its good in bangalore. In my opinion, the ambiance is great. We cud sit indoor and watch the rain drizzling thro the glass walls.. was lovely and romantic. Pretty interesting i shud say. As said before, it is a nice place to hang out with friends, i havent tried the outdoor seats but m sure it shud b fun. The service is ok, no complains. Expensive? I wouldnt say so, it is much cheaper than the other italian restaurants in the city, but then the quality is equally less too...
Now the food, i once had the mickey mouse (coke vanilla floated named a lil comically :P), it was well.. just coke vanilla float.. but this time i had the strawberry soda pop n decided that the coke float was awesome. cos i din kno strawberry cud taste so bland and soda pop cud taste like sprite with some more creamy bubbles on it. Truly disappointed, i had the potato wedges which was ok, nothin that broght bak my lost appetite. The house specialities were a very few, so we tried out the harvest casarolle (good), mexican chili veges with rice (noone cud eat beyond the first spoon) and a crepe a-la something (wasnt worth rem the name)..nothin was lip-smackin to write home about.
The feelin of fullness after eating cheese-filled deliciously rich italian food wasnt there... no i dint want to go for desserts after havin tasted the strawberry icecream on the soda pop! I mite go bak here if i jus wanna hang out with friends n have some fun time ... mayb nibble on some starters and pizza (which i havent tried yet) ... definitely not wen m in a mood for italian... there is little italy with yummy italian and mexican food jus a few blocks away!

A nice, laid back restaurant with gr8 ambience. I went there for lunch. I liked the look of the place..an ideal place to hang out with ur frnds & chat for hours. If the weatherz right, u cud dine outdoors too. Coming to the food, I was really disappointed. There were six of us for lunch. We ordered for:
Strawberry soda pop (really good)
Lemon soda pop (tastes like lemon soda..nothin special)
Mickey mouse (basically cola with ice cream..worth a try)
Punch with rum (I couldn’t taste the rum! It tasted jus like Tropicana mixed fruit juice)
Potato wedges & French fries (I like d ones at mc donalds better)
We had a couple of spaghetti dishes, penne in white sauce, bismark pizza & Milanese pizza for the main course. Spaghetti was edible but I’ve had better spaghetti at many other places. Penne in white sauce was good. Bismark pizza looked yummy & I really wanted to taste it but it had beef The Milanese pizza was inedible! It had spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes & onions as the toppings. It looked pretty nice but it tasted simply horrible. The chef must have tried really hard to make such a horrible pizza! I mean..its kinda impossible to make a pizza tht tastes so bad but hey, Casa Picola has done it!!
We had the hot chocolate sundae for dessert which basically is a scoop of vanilla ice cream & chocolate ice cream each, a tiny brownie & a generous serving of chocolate sauce. It looked beautiful & tasted delicious! I’m def’lly goin there again to have this :-)
So yeah, this place is kinda over rated. Its nice for beverages & desserts but if u r expecting an authentic Italian meal, go else where.

For someone who has always been a casa piccola fan from bangalore days it was really surprise finding one in chennai.
I went for lunch and the restaurant was bright and airy almost as if you were sitting outside minus the heat of course. There was outside seating for those who preferred it to enjoy the balmy chennai weather.
The food surpassed expectations. They had some new items on the menu which I'd never had in B'lore. The Beef Chilly starters was just awesome so was the Beef Moussaka.
The Blackened Fish was just ok... Dint excite me too much but the rest of the food was just amazing.
Best of all the prices are reasonable too...
Ideal for a relaxing weekend lunch. No bookings required, not too much of a crowd.
