Murugan Idli has TWO joints in T Nagar - one of these on GN Chetty Road.. The steamed idlis are awesome and you can munch on the masala dosas and the crunchy VADAIS are to die for..! put simbly, Murugan serves THE best vegetarian South Indian food there is (in Chennai city).. Price of fare is reasonable and the food sits light inside your being.. the hall-mark of great (culinary) taste! and the taste NEVER varies.. after all, there IS a premium on consistency, I guess..!!

When you think of South Indian dishes the first thing that cross your mind is IDLI. And when you talk about Idli. It is Murgan Idli Shop in Triplicane. The light fluffy idlis at Murgan are a treat. The soft steamed rice cakes are served on a banana leaf with a variety of chutneys- mint, tomatoes, coconut & mali. The steaming Sambhar added on top of the idlis makes it more mouth watering. The dish can be enjoyed as a snack or a meal.
Sweet Pongal too is the specialty of Murgan but it was too sweet. You can even munch on dosa, curd rice & utthapams etc. If nothing you can sip a cup of coffee. It’s worth drinking.
The décor is simple with South Indian ambience, as you enjoy the rice cakes you can have a vivid view of the road outside. Open all days from 5:30pm to 11:30 pm, a perfect place for Idli date, Aiyya.-yo!
