Purely for continental buffs

I actually wanted to rate 3.5 but no provision here, hence 3.
Apart from Food:
Located neatly in Murray Gate's Road away from the hustling TTK road, Tangerine sports a posh look from the outside, that is because every table is candle lit and the whole ambience is dim lit. But surprise awaits you when you enter, as the tables were quite packed. I went on a friday so obviously not only the place was crowded but very noisy which was a bit unusual for a niche and expensive restaurant. Also the music was a tad louder. Parking space is poor, so be there around 7.30 pm to avoid parking hassles else you gotta park on the road itself but I don't think thats uncommon there.

Now for the Food Factor. As my title goes, its purely a delight for a continental lover. Their Brocheta veg starter (vegetables and bread) was really good. So was the chicken starter (Sorry I dont rem the names or spellings either). Garlic Prawns was merely king size prawns tossed with capsicums with not much flavour to it.

You have a lot of both veg and non veg sizzlers to choose for the main course. People, this place is known for their sizzlers. Chicken Bell Pepper was quite good with a continental flavour which I guess even a non continental person would like. And then the Chicken Peri Peri with rice was reallly mouth wateringly exotic with a more Indian touch to it. Boy that was really good and filing. Also the Grilled Chicken Napolean was a good continental pick with a rich taste especially the wine. They also serve pastas here and we tried Arbita Pasta. This was disappointing. The flavour was simply sour and tasted more like a simple tomato sauce. Not good. Even my mom would make a better one.

Orders did take a while to be served. One interesting thing about Tangerine is the Sizzlers would sizzle all the way to your table and keep sizzling for a while. I wouldn't say the service was excellent but it was more than good. The prices were a bit deep on the pockets. Yes, I would call this place very expensive. Or I'll leave it to you to decide. With starters, main course and no desserts, for five people it cost a bit more than 2 grand.

Finally, I would recommend Tangerine if you are bored with your so often Chinese, pizzas, North Indian, etc and wanna explore something else. To spend time with your loved one, a strict NO. But thats just me. Thanks anyway. Enjoy!!!

Good but Expensive Sizzlers

The grub (read sizzlers) was tasty, but the food did take a while to be concocted owing to there being only one chef (or at least only one was visible). The waiter was not as polite as can be expected. The Ambiance is nothing to write about.

The garlic lemon prawns were wonderful. The spicy chicken soup was tasty, so were the crab cakes. The mixed grill consisting of sausages, chicken and beef; and the seafood mixed grill consisting of fish, prawns and crab cakes were mouthwatering and delicious. The presentation of the dishes were good and were served with a side serving of vegetables and tastefully done potatoes with cheese. We had death by chocolate for desert which was worth killing for.

Overall i would say the food is really good but a bit overpriced.
