There are somethings that are not tolerable in a restaurant that charges you the Earth and that is having a bad bartender.
Above Sea Level lives upto its name when it comes to ambience, there is a mild breeze that keeps you cool, especially in the heat wave that has currently taken Chennai hostage and the setting is idyllic for muted conversations.
Music is not too loud and the service is ok, the food ordinary and the drinks pathetic.
What irked one was the fact that the glasses used were wrong, the cocktails were a messy slush and had to be returned twice to the bar with requests to get it right and that it took too long for them to arrive.
I would rather recommend the other rooftop restaurant - The Crown at the Residency Towers instead of this place.

Though not high enough, you get a great view of Chennai from Above Sea Level. The breeze makes it an extremely pleasant place to be during the evening. The food is good though it is a tad too expensive. You also have a good range of beverages to choose from.
So if you are meeting up with your friend(s) for a relaxed evening, then Above Sea Level is the place to go.
