gone are the good old days 2012-02-20
Ever since they converted to full self service the food seems different and not as good as it used to be before. The way they pour the dal over the chappathis is revolting!!! -

Vishrathi has been there for a long time and recently have refurbished the place. The food is decent and not expensive. And you shouldn't expect the ambience of a restaurent. if you are looking for a quick, good food in Besant Nagar, you should go here. -

Went to this place few days back. They have rebuilt the complete restaurant. There is no AC room like earlier. Looks like a fast food joint with as many as 4 tables with chairs and remaining 'stand and eat'.Complete self service... As usual you have the common car parking opposite @ Rs.5 per hour. We had Dosa, Onion bajji, Samosa, fried rice, Bonda and fresh juice... Fresh juice was not tasting good. All other items were good.... -

I tend to only use this place for takeaway dinners. It's cheap, it's vegetarian and the service is quick. The food itself isn't anything special but it's tasty and filling enough. I concur with the "House specialities" listed here - their Onion Uthappam is probably their best product.
They do have a restaurant further inside which the locals tend to favour. -
