Had been to Tareef almost 6 to 7 years back when the decor was not so decked up as it is today. The owner used to personally take care of the guests. Well time passed by and things changed - for the worse. I headed back with my friends to have the "famous" gosth dum phukt biryani. We also ordered the tomato soup - which was good but it smelled little of chicken stalk.
Dum cauliflower and sabzi tandoor masala along with roti.This was pretty standard north indian food. Good taste. BUt i had only half a roti since i was waiting for the biryani - which was bought and it was a complete disaster - the rice was over cooked and they had used lamb instead of goat which was half cooked with 70% bones and no meat. The grains were sticking to each other, it was nothing but a overdose of masala and rice. A complete let down. May be the time we went for food was a mistake ? Dunno.
Regarding the staff - it was a collection of guys with little or no knowledge of food or serving the food. The person was kind enough to drop the entire serving on my pants - without an apology !
I think i am done with Tareef. With nothing left to Tareef about it - apart from the glorified menu card.
An awesome place for non veg lovers. If you wish to have delicious, succulent and aromatic chicken delicacies, Tareef is the place. The chicken is softer than potatoes, and the rotis were simply superb.Crowdy on weekends, but it worth the wait. Interiors here are royally rustic and classy. The entire setup is quite cosy. Food is tasty and quality is good. Kebabs and biryani are must haves.
