Located on the way to Blue Star at Anna nagar, this kutty joint can easily be missed. However, if you're in the pursuit of the best Chilly Beef in Chennai, you better not miss Dominus.
Once upon a time, Dominus, then known as Domino's used to dish out lip smacking food from a van at Collector Nagar. It was a favourite spot among the people in the locality. Couple of years later, the van vanished and loyal customers tracked down Domino's to Nelson Manickam Road. Finally around 4-5 years ago, Domino's got rechristened as Dominus (for obvious reasons) and shifted base to its current location... read more
Although the popularity of this place is mainly due to the lack of other places in Chennai that serve authentic Malay food, food isn't entirely disappointing.
Tried a number of dishes, some fantastic and some quite revolting. The Char Kway Teow Kambing (flat noodles with lamb) reeked of eggs & though I am a hard core non-vegetarian, this particular dish was a bit too much to handle. However, I did like the Mee Hun. Desserts and beverages are pretty unique and highly recommended too. I loved the Ice Kachang & Cendol!
Service is quick and efficient and ambience is decent too. If... read more
Adyar and Besant Nagar are probably my favourite areas in the city as they bring back fond memories of my childhood. Was at Adyar the other day to decide on a location for my friend’s birthday when I set my eyes on Azzuri Bay. Situated right adjacent to Crimson Chakra, this is the latest addition to the CC family and looks serene and extremely beautiful.
Ambiance- You are welcomed at the entrance by a large white coloured sculpture of the Buddha whose outstretched palm serves as a fountain. It was a lovely afternoon when I was there and the water and the few trees around made me forget... read more
Express Avenue’s food court is usually so crowded that it’s a tough task to find a seat there. On such a busy Sunday, my friends and I decided to give the food court a miss and instead, try the spread at DINE- the restaurant cum café which is a part of Escape.
Food- I was too hungry to even take a glimpse of the menu and we chose to go for the very popular Biriyani deal. What’s the deal? Soup, a drink, unlimited Biriyani, Raita, Brinjal Curry and a dessert for Rs 200. The Sweet Corn Soup was very average but then again, I might... read more
ECR is dotted with restaurants serving every cuisine possible. Since I usually do not travel to that part of Chennai and last weekend was one of those ‘once in a blue moon’ opportunities that I was there, I decided to check out Tryst Café.
The place is hard to miss. While driving down ECR, you’ll without fail notice the big signboard of Tryst Village. The café has both outdoor and indoor seating. I chose to sit indoors. Ambience is very classy and minimalist. Victorian style furniture and beautiful drapes make this pretty little place look even prettier.
