Lotus Anna Salai  |  6 reviews

I am a regular at the Lotus and I love the weekday lunch buffet. The food is amazing and you will want to return for the next meal as well.

The spread is not to large but each and every dish is absolutely brilliant.

The soup are very nice and very flavourful. They serve a basic tom yum and coconut based soup. Different types of noodles, veggies, meat and fish can be added to them. There is a live salad bar where they make the best raw papaya and raw mango salad with again a variety of veggies, fried and grilled meats. The salads are absolutely divine.

  • Not worth it!!! Jan 29, 2012

    Madras Teynampet  |  3 reviews

I love Raintree's Kitchen and Lemongrass. The food is really good in both these places. I just assumed that the food would be just as good at Madras but I was sooo wrong.

The restaurant is very well done. It looks elegant but there is no correlation between the place and the kind of food that they serve. Even the cutlery used were probably the best you can find but I was so not happy with the food.

I dined with 3 others at Madras for Lunch. We had ordered for 2 vegetarian and 2 non vegetarian thalis. The soup and the chutneys served initially were very nice and flavourful. After

Holy Smoke Nungambakkam  |  40 reviews

You don’t really expect to find a proper restaurant in a place like ispahani centre. Located in the centre of the city, holy smoke is a double deck restaurant with the worst staircase and a funny smell. Décor is well done with comfy couches and pretty cushions. The place setting is sad and depressing. A sheet of paper underneath the plate so does not compliment the décor. They are out of cutlery all the time and never have the decency to ask for water.

Coming to the food. The sizzlers are very very small. The idea of the hot-stone sizzler is interesting but the portions and the food that

  • Great food... Nov 01, 2009

Crimson Chakra Adyar  |  46 reviews

Crimson chakra is located in Gandhi Nagar, pretty close to the Gandhi Nagar Club. It is a beautiful house converted into a restaurant and café. The interiors are done very tastefully with very interesting paintings and artifacts. The warli painting on the outside which is done very differently is a big add on.

Coming to the food. The café has a menu of its own and the restaurant has a regular set menu which is changed pretty often. It comprises of a soup, 4 to 5 appetizers, and the main course includes aappam with stew, dosa, 4 kinds of breads and 4 varieties of gravys. And then finally

The Noodle House Nungambakkam  |  7 reviews

I never thought I would be so critical about food ever. but after stepping into this place I can clearly differentiate between good food and horrible food. And I am sorry to say that this place belongs to the latter.

To begin with the starters, the spring roll had a very strong flavour of egg white. Not many vegetarians appreciate it and I would love to recommend spring roll pastry to the chef. The dip was served along was ketchup. Has the chef ever heard of chilli garlic sauce?

It is very obvious that Indians cannot eat authentic Chinese food because of the spices and the
