  • A Not-so-sporting Sports Bar Apr 23, 2010

Sports Bar Lower Parel  |  13 reviews

Three of us went to Sports Bar at 7 pm on Wednesday so that we could watch the MI vs RCB Semis. I was surprised to see that the place was empty and I assumed we were the first few people to land up. But just as we were about to take our seat, the manager asked us to shell out Rs. 5400 if we intended to watch the IPL match. (Yes, that's Rs. 1800 per person. And it wasn't as though we were stags.) Absolutely ridiculous. Even 6 pitchers of beer amongst 3 of us along with snacks wouldn't cost that much at Sports Bar on another day. And what's the point of having a Sports Bar that charges people for... read more

Cannon Pav Bhaji Churchgate  |  5 reviews

The Vim TVC portrays Cannon Pav Bhaji as one of the most famous PB joints in Bombay but that is completely untrue. DO NOT fall for it. The Pav Bhaji here is unhygienic and pathetic. If you want to have Pav Bhaji then head to Amar Juice Centre in Vile Parle or Sardar Pav Bhaji in Tardeo.

Truffles - Chocolate Studio Juhu  |  11 reviews

I just checked out Truffles and they make chocolates designed in the form of a nice bouquet. I sent one of these chocolate bouquets to my friend on her birthday and she was on Cloud 9. So I'd give it a thumbs up as for anyone looking at a unique gifting option.

  • Hit this place on a Sunday afternoon... Apr 02, 2009

Out of The Blue Khar West  |  182 reviews

...and enjoy a pasta with your drink. Follow it up with a death-by-chocolate and a maghai paan just outside before heading home to catch more sleep. Out of the Blue has great sofas for you to laze on along with your spouse / friends, some good live music, a nice open bar with bartenders doing their thing, water being sprayed from fans placed high up and a great crowd. A Sunday well-spent.

    Thanks.
Whats would you prefer on a Sunday Afternoon... a buffet or drinks packages or just regular ala carte.

The buffet sounds like a good idea but in that case I wouldn't be drinking much.

Yep the margarita pitcher would be a good way to start if I were to come in a group. A special package would have a good chance of inducing an order. I'd say Rs. 700-750 would be a great price for those who intend to gorge. But if there's a group with light eaters, esp women, then they'd prefer ala carte at that price. If you also wish to reach out to them then Rs. 400-500 should be a killer deal. At that price, you'll even get them to pay for a few drinks before they begin.

    Q'BA Connaught Place  |  21 reviews

I agree completely with the review titled 'Inner Circle Jewel.' Just thought I'd add my experience to it.

The first time I went here, I had the whole of Sunday to kill with a couple of friends before taking the flight back to Chennai. It was winter time and so we took a table on the upper deck and enjoyed the early afternoon sun with a picturesque view of the Inner Circle at Connaught Place. Later, we took a table inside. There was some great live acoustic music on the podium just above the Q-shaped bar. Sunlight came in through the violet wraps and gave the place a surreal feel.
