There is little to say about the ubiquitous chinese restaurants dotting the city. But there are only a handful that really serve the best of authentic chinese varieties. Wonton is one such. The restaurant is hidden amidst trees in one of the quiet lanes of abhiramapuram. It is attached to a fast food outlet called Krispy Cream which has varied menu and a salad bar. Also available are confectionery, pastas and burgers, milk shakes and a different kinds of breads. They are together run by one Ms. Shobha Gwalani who even takes party orders.

If you're planning a get together or thinking of spending some 'party' time, then folks THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! You got it all wrong! See, this aint a bar bar... this is simply a coffee shop (you may call that) within a bookstore. That's right. Cha Bar is the coffee at the Oxford Bookstore at Haddows Road, Nungambakkam. The place is a heaven for book lovers and not-so book lovers. Get a cuppa and grab some bites and relax over a book - makes your day.

This place, right next to Cognizant at Thoraipakka is one of the best that serves Punjabi food. The dishes are piping hot and absolutely rich and delicious. Suits best if you go as a gang. The dhaba is always abuzz with IT guys, esp late evening.
The parathas are just too good and one dish that still lingers in my memory is egg bhujia gravy. It was superlative. Of cos you have to try out the tandoori varieties which is equally delicious. The bill is absolutely pocket friendly and when you step out, you'll be beaming with a big smile. -
